Connect to your server via Remote Desktop

On your keyboard hold down the Windows logo + R  buttons which opens the “Run” dialog and execute the “cmd” command and click OK

Type “regedit” and click enter

Navigate to the following Registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber

Find the “PortNumber” registry subkey and either right-click or double-click it. A box should pop that says “edit DWORD.” Find the value data (it should say 3389 for standard installations) and change it to the port that you would like.

I hope these steps will be helful!

Dedicated hosting essentially means that your website has its own server all to itself. It offers immense power and flexibility, but usually comes at a premium. As such, it’s important to do your research before opting to purchase this type of plan.

For example, most websites start out with a shared hosting plan but soon grow to exceed that cheap shared plan’s limits. Your options here could include an upgrade to a virtual private server (VPS) or a dedicated one. It’s up to you to weigh up the different options.

As you may be aware, shared hosting stores your site on a server with potentially hundreds of others. For personal blogs or very small businesses, this option is sufficient. However, it’s not the best option for performance, and you also lose out on flexibility because you can’t configure things yourself (since you have to share with others).

On the other hand, a VPS gives your site its own space, separate from other sites, while still sharing a server. Since your site is blocked off from other users, its performance will likely be more consistent. You also get a little more flexibility when it comes to how your server is configured.

These types of plans can offer you the speed you need at a lower cost than dedicated hosting, and represent a good middle ground for those looking to upgrade.

However, dedicated hosting is the plan of choice if you need the most power for your money. However, as you’d expect, the downside is cost, and some run up to three-figures per month. Fortunately, by the time your website needs one to handle its traffic, it may very well be worth it.

To reboot your standalone router take these steps:

Remove the power cable from your modem and the batteries along with any other hardware.
Release the power cable from your Spectrum router too.
Wait for a minute and allow things to cool down a bit.
Now, reinsert the batteries and plug the power cord back into the modem.
Wait for two minutes to allow the modem to rev-up.
The modem’s lights should slowly restore to confirm it is powered and connected.
Now, plug-in your Spectrum router to the power supply and wait for two minutes for it to boot up. Once display lights turn on, you will note that you have successfully achieved a Spectrum router red light fix.
Check your internet connection to confirm you are back online.

I hope these steps will be helpful!

A solid-state drive (SSD) is a new generation of storage device used in computers. SSDs replace traditional mechanical hard disks by using flash-based memory, which is significantly faster. Older hard-disk storage technologies run slower, which often makes your computer run slower than it should. SSDs speed up computers significantly due to their low read-access times and fast throughputs.

Benefits of SSD
Speed
The improved disk read speed of an SSD enables users to access their data much quicker on a daily basis, and that rapidity pays dividends in the field of web hosting. SSDs can read data over four times quicker than HDDs, or much more than that in the case of NVMe SSDs, so a website owner with a plan based on HDD technology may find that their site visitors end up hopping over to a competitor with SSD hardware.

Durability
There's never a good time for your HDD to fail, considering the preciousness of the data it may contain, but web hosting companies can ill afford avoidable malfunctions given the nature of their service. What is SSD storage's advantage in terms of durability? While HDDs are generally dependable for 3-5 years, SSDs could potentially operate reliably for a period around four times longer. It's unwise to push SSD and HDD to their breaking points, but SSD will provide peace of mind for longer.

Power
SSDs are more efficient in their generation of power, which enables web hosting companies to cut down on overheads. Whether idle or working, HDDs are consuming power more hungrily than SSDs. During times of inactivity, an HDD may require a power input 15 times greater than an SSD, and 7 times greater when performing tasks. By switching to SSDs, web hosting companies can reduce their expenses and subsequently provide more attractive pricing structures for clients - again, a company stuck asking 'what is SSD storage?' may find themselves left behind by web hosts that have embraced the modern tech.

Eco-friendliness
That reduced power consumption also gives SSD an advantage over HDD in terms of eco-friendliness. It is vital for web hosting companies to consider their impact on the environment, with clients more likely to appreciate a brand that shows an appreciation for protecting the world's resources. By migrating to the best SSD for storage, web hosting companies will lessen their carbon footprint and become a champion for greener practices.

Below, we have gathered a detailed list of the essential features of dedicated server hosting.

Server Management
Reliability is the key factor in why most SMEs choose dedicated server hosting as their web hosting solution. A fully managed dedicated server is supervised and maintained by a team of IT experts who provide excellent online presence and enterprise-grade site performance.

Shared hosting or VPS hosting can sometimes mean limited resources, but dedicated server hosting generally provides solid hosting support, meaning your site can outshine competitors.

Since you will be outsourcing server management, it will save your internal team a lot of time and effort, as your service provider will take care of application installation, OS updates, patching, and server monitoring. As for domain management, many people choose Godaddy or Namecheap.

Scalability
Most businesses, be they small or large, have ambitions to grow a larger customer base and increase revenues. But with a limited number of resources provided in cloud and shared hosting solutions, it can get really challenging to deal with high traffic spikes – and this is where a dedicated server is most in its element.

A dedicated host will provide 100% performance on demand. The server will typically have multiple roles – it may be a WordPress server with a MySQL database and an Apache and PHP front end. As the organization grows, there will be a massive amount of overhead available on the dedicated server.

If the business grows exponentially, beyond expectations, additional dedicated hosts can be added and the website applications can be separated onto different nodes to increase the overall performance of the platform.

Security
Security is a major concern for anyone using cloud hosting, and securing your web server is incredibly important. Businesses face a huge number of challenges in preventing their server infrastructure from being breached.

A security breach can halt business operations, damage reputations, and cause organizations significant revenue loss. Security is the main highlight of dedicated server hosting, as a dedicated environment provides unparalleled protection and accessibility to install security software like firewalls, anti-malware programs, and more. Moreover, it also allows for security patches and easy upgrades to offer strong security and protection against attacks or undesirable intrusion.

Look for a dedicated hosting provider that offers web app security, SSL certificates, spam filtering, dedicated IP addresses, DDoS protection, and intrusion prevention.

Administrative Access and Server Configuration
Dedicated servers offer administrative access to install and configure any software programs needed to meet your business operations. The user is in complete control of what functions the dedicated server is to provide.

It provides a graphical user interface to easily manage and host multiple websites on a single Virtual Private Server (VPS) or dedicated server. You can perform anumber of tasks (uploading files, creating emails, setting cron jobs, handling databases, etc.) using this tool.

cPanel provides a user-level access interface where users can manage their web hosting. WHM (Web Host Manager) provides a root and reseller level access interface where users can manage settings related to server administration and account management.

Prerequisites:
- You’ve acquired a VPS solution.

- Minimum 1 GB RAM (2 GB Recommended)

- Minimum 20 GB Disk Space (40 GB Recommended)

Miscellaneous / Compare Shared Hosting vs Virtual Private Hosting?
« on: March 01, 2021, 07:32:57 AM »
Shared Hosting
Shared hosting is the most popular option for people building their first website.

When you sign up for shared hosting, the hosting company will put your website on a server along with hundreds, if not thousands, of other websites. This means each customer has to share space and resources on the server with every other customer, including CPU time, memory and disk space.

Think of shared hosting like living in an apartment building. All of the residents share the same building, but share things like elevators and stairwells, car parking and garbage collection.

Shared hosting is the cheapest and most economical option as far as hosting goes. However, you get what you pay for – in this case, shared hosting comes with strict limitations.

Pros
It’s cheap. Some hosting companies charge as little as $3.95 a month.
It’s beginner-friendly. It’s easy to get started with shared hosting compared to other hosting options.
Security, upgrades and maintenance of the server are managed for you.
Cons
It can be slow. With so many other websites running on the same server, your page load times may suffer.
Security isn’t guaranteed. You don’t know who else is using the same server, so if one site has a memory leak or is hacked, your site could be affected.
Lack of server control and performance. If the server is overcrowded or if another website takes up more than their share of resources, performance can drop.
It’s difficult to scale due to limited storage and bandwidth.

Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting
VPS is similar to shared hosting in that your website shares a server with other sites, but there are fewer sites sharing space and resources and the server is partitioned out into different virtualized server environments. Unlike shared hosting, VPS usually provides baseline resources that you’re guaranteed, as well as additional resources available at a moment’s notice should your site experience a traffic spike.

Think of VPS like living in a condo. While you still share the same building as other residents, you are responsible for the maintenance of your property and any repairs that need to be carried out inside your condo. Plus, there are fewer residents and you get your own allocated car parking space.

Pros
More affordable than a dedicated server and you pay for what you need.
More secure. In order to segment the server properly, the host installs a layer of software that dedicates part of the server to you, which make is completely separate from other customers.
It’s fast. You are allocated more resources compared to shared hosting.
Root server access. You can make customizations to suit your needs and you have greater control over your hosting environment.
It’s scalable. A VPS can grow with your site as your server needs increase over time.
Cons
Some server companies oversell their servers, hoping that every site currently using a particular server won’t have a peak traffic day.
More expensive than shared hosting.
If you choose an unmanaged VPS, it may be difficult to configure, taking longer to get your website up and running.

Miscellaneous / What are the benefits of Cloud hosting?
« on: March 01, 2021, 07:27:07 AM »
Benefits of Cloud Hosting:

Better Performance
It maximizes the performance of websites and web applications as the load is evenly distributed between the servers connected to the network. The availability of resources is also high as it is not dependent on a single physical server like in Shared Hosting.
Increased Scalability
Cloud Hosting allows easy and instantaneous upgradation of CPU and RAM, improving scalability as and when the traffic of your website increases.
Secure Data
Cloud Hosting provides data mirroring helping you keep your data secure. The data is mirrored on 3 different devices on various drives such that in case of any hardware failure you do not lose your data. This ensures hassle-free data backup and recovery.
Cost Saving
Although it may initially seem like Cloud Hosting is expensive, when you take into consideration the features it provides, the pricing is considerably more economical. Also in some cases, you only have to pay for the resources you use. Some of the features Cloud Hosting provides are, free data migration, fully managed hosting, resource monitoring etc.
Good Stability
Cloud Hosting is reliable as data has triple redundancy as a result of mirroring. This ensures that your data on the cloud is secure as well as if the server ever fails, recovering data is easier.
Incredible Speed
Cloud Hosting servers have low density that helps your website boost its speed along with varnish. Varnish is a web simulator that allows websites to sustain high traffic while loading pages in a super fast speed by caching the static and dynamic content on the web page. It can speed up websites by almost 1000%.

Miscellaneous / Re: What is a Parked Domain and Why you need it?
« on: March 01, 2021, 07:12:34 AM »
Traditionally, most websites have a single domain name or URL that leads to them. If you type google.com into your navigation bar, you’ll see the familiar search bar appear.

However, a lot of websites also have what are called parked domains or ‘aliases’. Those are additional URLs leading towards the same page.

There are a lot of ways you can use parked domains to your advantage, including:

Securing common misspellings of your primary domain name
Registering your primary domain using other Top-Level Domains (TLDs)
Saving names you can later sell

Benefits of Parked Domain are
This can be a single-page website where Internet browser see when they type the domain name with in the web browser or follow a link in a web browser. You can have multiple domain names pointing to your main web site. The updation with in the name servers for the domain name is also updated with the registrar or reseller potentially has use of the domain rather than the final registrant. In the latter, an “Under Construction” or a “Coming Soon” message may or may not be put up on the domain by the registrar or reseller. To increase your online visibility the best way is park multiple domains where as these parked domain are on main domain which shows website of the main domain you are using presently . Similarly parked domain on the subdomain would show website of subdomain. Domain names can be parked before a web site is ready for launching. Domain which is parked on subdomain is called addon domain.

Creating additional email accounts using your alias, which forward messages to your primary domain
Parked domains can also refer to URLs that you register and don’t point towards any website in particular (hence the term ‘parked’). Whatever you decide to do with your parked domain or alias, however, setting it up is downright simple.

Miscellaneous / What is Virtual Dedicated server hosting?
« on: March 01, 2021, 07:00:57 AM »
A dedicated server is a server that’s literally dedicated to your own personal use. You’ll have rights to all of the resources of the machine, and you’ll be able to configure the hosting environment however you wish.

Dedicated hosts are usually only worthwhile if you’re receiving over 500,000 visitors per month and have the necessary technical staff to maintain and optimize your server.

There is no right and wrong when it comes to hosting. Instead, it simply depends upon what’s the best choice for your website. We all have different needs. So make sure you take stock of what kind of hosting support you’ll need before you choose a web host.

However, since dedicated servers are almost always more expensive it’s generally a good idea to start with a VPS until your company is generating enough revenue to support the cost of a dedicated server.

In addition to potentially getting you more resources, the big advantage of this approach is that you have full control over the actual physical hardware inside your server and the software that’s running on it.

For example, maybe you prefer AMD processors to Intel processors – you have that level of control with a dedicated server. You can also control every single piece of software on that physical hardware.
