How long has the host been around, it’s beneficial if they have been established for some time, but this doesn’t mean rule out the really new ones but if you are going to choose a newish hoster, ask your self how are you going to feel if your site just disappears and you have no chance of getting it back?

I've been with GTHost.com dedicated servers for quite a long period of time, and they're the best webhost I've found so far. All servers with IPMI on board, they have a gray IP for security, they can be accessed through the admin, a real IP will be allocated for the duration of the session, the client can use IPMI at any time for free.

I must say I've saved good money and Rockhoster.com hosting has been rock solid, fast, and as I've had no issues with service can only say when I caused an htaccess error due to some sloppy ftp handling and brought down all sites - they got back to me in no time and politely informed me of cause of issue and quick fix.
