General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: VPS for a Discord moderation bot?

« on: October 09, 2026, 04:52:00 AM »

A Discord bot is very light, so a small VPS is enough. 1 CPU and 2GB RAM will run it fine.

Pick a host with good uptime, since the bot must stay online all the time. Also ask if daily backups and DDoS protection are included in the plan, not paid extras.

General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: Cloud server for custom PHP CRM

« on: October 04, 2026, 11:32:09 PM »

For a custom PHP CRM using PostgreSQL CRM with Docker, look for a cloud VPS plan offering full root access (needed for Docker) and flexible resource scaling (so you can bump CPU/RAM as your CRM grows without migrating servers).

Minimum starting point: 2-4 vCPU, 4-8GB RAM, SSD/NVMe storage; PostgreSQL benefits from decent RAM for caching. Make sure whichever provider you pick supports KVM-based VPS (not OpenVZ), since Docker needs full virtualization to work properly.

General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: VPS for self-hosted analytics?

« on: September 29, 2026, 11:42:48 PM »

For self-hosted analytics, you will want a VPS with decent RAM (analytics tools like Matomo/Plausible can be resource-hungry as data grows)

4GB+ RAM and SSD/NVMe storage is a good starting point.

Just confirm daily backups and DDoS protection are included in whatever plan you pick, not just offered as paid extras.

Some providers only bundle those into higher tiers.

General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: Hosting for a personal resume site?

« on: September 22, 2026, 07:51:15 AM »

For a small resume site, any decent shared hosting plan will handle it fine, it is a low-resource use case.

Just confirm with whichever provider you go with that daily backups and DDoS protection are actually included in the plan that you are looking, not just offered as a paid add-on, some hosts only bundle those into higher-tier plans.

General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: Looking for NVMe VPS Hosting

« on: September 16, 2026, 05:47:15 AM »

Yeah, a NVMe VPS with solid reviews for uptime, speed, and quick support sounds like a good fit for a simple backend setup, full control over resources and easy setup too, based on what people say.

Worth comparing it against a couple others as well, just to see which gives the best value for your needs.

General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: Good VPS hosting for a small forum project?

« on: September 10, 2026, 06:57:03 AM »

Yes, Hostnamaste looks trustworthy, mostly great reviews, easy setup (good for non-technical users), solid uptime, and helpful support. Good fit for your specs too since they offer OpenVZ VPS with similar configs.

General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: Which VPS should I have a deal with?

« on: September 03, 2026, 02:30:47 AM »

Both look fine, but I would go with OperaVPS, good uptime and helpful support, based on reviews. Just know backups cost extra.

JustVPS.pro is cheaper and also decent good if price matters more to you.

For a blog, either will work well. Just pick whichever is closer to your readers' location.

General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: Researching AMD dedicated server packages. Any suggestions?

« on: August 27, 2026, 03:26:15 AM »

Hostingsource seems decent overall; good uptime and fast support based on most reviews, especially on their AMD servers.

Just double check the contract terms before signing; even with "no contract" marketing, dedicated plans do have a minimum commitment period with an early cancellation fee, so get the exact terms in writing first.

For any AMD provider, I would compare a couple options on uptime SLA and support response time, and try a short trial if they offer one before committing long-term.

General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: Seeking Ryzen Dedicated Server with NVMe Storage

« on: June 18, 2026, 07:06:34 AM »

Greenwebpage is mostly a shared/VPS/eco-hosting company, their reviews are decent for that kind of hosting, but I didn't see any specific track record for Ryzen 9 dedicated servers with NVMe RAID setups. They're based in Europe with locations in Germany, Romania, Holland and the UK.

For a use case as specific as yours (virtualization + dev work, Ryzen 9, 128GB+ RAM, NVMe RAID, remote KVM access).

For best advice - since your workload is virtualization, make sure whichever provider you pick actually supports nested virtualization properly on the Ryzen platform (some hosts restrict this at the hypervisor level), and confirm IPMI/KVM access is included free, not as an add-on. That detail gets buried in a lot of provider docs.

General Dedicated Server Hosting Discussion / Re: Looking for VPS for Online Shop

« on: June 15, 2026, 12:51:20 AM »

If you want the provider to handle updates, security patches, and monitoring, I focus on a managed VPS rather than a specific brand first. Your specs (4–8 cores, 8 GB RAM) are enough for many small to medium online stores, but good support is what really makes the difference when something goes wrong.

I haven't personally used Regvps, so I'd suggest checking recent customer reviews and maybe contacting their support with a few technical questions before committing. A quick response now is often a good indicator of future support quality.
