Is a VPS suitable for hosting a multiplayer game server?
« on: October 30, 2026, 03:42:45 AM »
A few friends and I want to launch a private multiplayer game server for a small community. We also plan to create a simple website where players can register and check server statistics. I'm trying to figure out whether a VPS would be enough for this setup. Daily backups and DDoS protection are particularly important because I don't want to lose our configuration or have the server taken offline by attacks. Would hostpro.com be worth considering for this purpose?

New customers are often better off testing a hosting service with a monthly plan before committing to a longer subscription.

Yes, a VPS is enough for a small game server. Pick one with a fast CPU, 4GB+ RAM, and NVMe storage.

Ask the host if daily backups and DDoS protection are included, since game servers get attacked often. Start with a monthly plan to test it before paying long-term.
